Our Story

Frustrated with not being able to find stylish shoes for her size 4 feet, Sydney Pringle established The Little Shoe Store in 2010. Located in New York, the store carried an array of fashionable petite women’s shoes and had a dedicated customer base from the beginning.

The Little Women shoe line was created in 2015 after a few cast members from the reality show ‘Little Women: NY’ happened to visit the store. After meeting the ladies and seeing the challenges they can have with finding shoes, Sydney decided to create a new line of shoes dedicated not only for those with dwarfism but any petite foot that runs smaller and wider.

Sydney dove into the community by participating as an expo vendor at the annual ‘Little People of America’ National Conference in St. Louis, MO in July of 2015. The shoes were very well received and quickly became a success with ladies and girls of different ages in the LPA community.

In 2016 the New York store closed and the original petite line of shoes continued to sell online until it was discontinued in 2019. Since then the store has focused on selling the current line of shoes. After 14 years of hard work and many happy feet, Sydney sold the business in 2024 to pursue her other passions in life.

Aimee Rudd is the new owner. Being an avid customer for years, and a woman with dwarfism, Aimee understands the challenges of finding stylish, high quality, comfortable shoes that not only fit well but look great too. She is excited for the future and passionate about continuing the store's mission of providing fashionable footwear for every occasion and helping others feel confident with every step!

“I loved my work with the little people community, but I believe the store needed to be owned by a little person. I'm grateful to Aimee for continuing the store, and I'm anxious to see how she takes the store to the next level." - Sydney Pringle
